General questions
Absolutely! La Joyeuse is centrally located in the heart of France, in Préveranges in the Berry. Our 2-night Escale arrangement is specially designed as a restful break on your journey. Check in, recharge your batteries and continue your trip refreshed.
La Joyeuse is a B&B exclusively for adults. We also ask that pets be left at home, so that all guests can enjoy their stay in complete peace.
Yes, the house at La Joyeuse is smoke-free. Smoking is permitted outside on the grounds, provided that other guests are not disturbed by it.
Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the house.
Yes, guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool in the garden.
Wiebe and Marjan speak fluent Dutch, German and English. They have a good understanding of French. Guests from all four language regions are warmly welcome.

Rooms
Yes, the room rates are the same for 1 or 2 persons. A generous breakfast with regional products is always included. The tourist tax (€ 0.88 per person per night) is not included.
Yes, each room has a fully private bathroom with toilet, vanity unit and shower cabin with rain shower and massage jets.

Culinary
No, breakfast is always included in the room rate and is served every morning at 8:30 AM. Assorted bread rolls, a fresh egg, sweet and savoury toppings, orange juice and croissants — local produce takes centre stage. No reservation needed.
Yes, Marjan takes dietary requirements and allergies into account as much as possible. Please let us know at the time of booking or upon arrival. You can also indicate this via the link in the digital guide you receive after booking.
Yes! Marjan serves a 3-course Table d’Hôtes dinner every evening for € 28.50 per person, including still water and coffee or tea. We dine together at one long table — a cosy, familial atmosphere. Wednesday is Italian evening, Friday is French evening.
Yes, we are happy to prepare a packed lunch: assorted filled sandwiches, fruit, a cereal bar, a small salad and a bottle of juice — for € 12.50 per person. Please let us know the evening before.
From 1 April to 31 October, we are open from 11:00 to 16:00 for coffee, tea, a glass of wine or lunch. On Wednesday and Saturday evenings we serve a set dinner menu (€ 28.50 per person), bookable up to 1 day in advance via +33 (0)6 12 18 86 21 or info@la-joyeuse.com. We dine together at one long table (table d’hôtes).

Your vacation
Yes, there are hiking and cycling routes starting directly from the village. Nature here is largely unspoilt. Ask us upon arrival for tailor-made routes based on your fitness level and preferences.
The Berry offers a rich cultural mix: medieval towns, castles, museums and beautiful gardens. Bourges (UNESCO World Heritage), Culan and Châteaumeillant are a short distance away. We are happy to give you personal tips over breakfast.

The Stopover package (2 nights) is ideal as a stopover. The Enjoyment package (4 or 8 nights) is for those who really want to switch off: more time to explore the Berry and fully unwind.
In practice
La Joyeuse is located on the village square of Préveranges. Parking is available on the square and in the immediate surroundings. Parking is free.
Yes, there is a charging point at the Mairie (town hall) of Préveranges, within walking distance of La Joyeuse.

When you book directly via our website, by e-mail or by phone, you always get the best rate — with no commission fees from booking platforms. You are also in direct contact with Wiebe and Marjan, allowing us to better tailor your stay to your wishes.
After your booking, you will automatically receive our personal digital guide. It contains all practical information about the house, the area and your stay — including an interactive map with our favourite spots nearby. You will arrive fully prepared.
All cancellations must be communicated in writing or by e-mail.

Meals, drinks and extras are settled on the morning of departure. Card payment is not possible at La Joyeuse. Payment can be made in cash, by direct bank transfer or by French cheque.
